RECREATION & LAKE MINNETONKA
A destination. And your way home.
At Deephaven Cove, a quiet private road and a mature woodland canopy are only the beginning. Beyond the neighborhood lies a remarkable collection of lakefront places, parks, trails, and towns—places people seek out for a day away.
Living here means those experiences can become part of your own routine. Explore Deephaven and Minnetonka, spend time along Wayzata Bay, or make an afternoon of Excelsior. Then return to the trees, gardens, and familiar street that make the Cove feel like home.
CHOOSE YOUR KIND OF DAY
So much nearby. So many ways to enjoy it.

MAKE ROOM FOR A LAKE DAY
Lake Minnetonka
A sailboat on the horizon. A paddle across quiet water. An evening spent watching the light change over the bay. Lake Minnetonka gives this corner of Minnesota a rhythm all its own.
Boating, sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, swimming beaches, public docks, and seasonal cruises offer many ways to enjoy the water. In winter, the lake landscape takes on another character, with ice fishing and other outdoor traditions when conditions permit.
Tree-shaded streets lead toward beaches, parks, and quiet views of the lake. Deephaven brings the pleasures of a lakeside destination into the landscape around home.
Discover Deephaven Beach and the city’s other public beaches, shoreline parks, walking and biking routes, tennis and pickleball opportunities, and seasonal community activities. The Cottagewood General Store is another familiar stop in the wider lake community.
Let a morning coffee become a walk beside Wayzata Bay. Stay for browsing, a meal, or simply a little more time watching the water. Nearby Wayzata makes an ordinary day feel like an outing.
Panoway connects downtown and the lakefront through public gathering spaces and the Lakewalk. Waterfront paths, boutiques, restaurants, cafés, beaches, docks, and seasonal events make this a place to return to throughout the year.
Historic Water Street, local shops, and the open waterfront at the Commons invite a slower kind of day. Excelsior has the charm of a getaway without the need to pack for one.
Explore waterfront parks and public beaches, browse boutiques, enjoy local restaurants, and look for farmers markets, summer concerts, and community festivals on current event calendars. A lakeside walk can be the whole plan.
Nature preserves and neighborhood parks sit alongside shopping, dining, recreation, and cultural opportunities. Minnetonka adds variety to the life surrounding our woodland neighborhood.
Walking and biking trails, golf, recreation programs, playgrounds, picnic areas, and athletic facilities offer choices for many interests. Big Willow Park and the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, featured in our original recreation artwork, are additional destinations to explore in the surrounding area.
Some days call for a bicycle ride. Others need only a path, a bench, and time to notice the trees. The surrounding trail network makes outdoor time part of everyday living.
The Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail links lakeside communities with opportunities for walking and biking. Nearby parks and nature preserves add birdwatching, picnics, play, and seasonal winter recreation, including cross-country skiing at designated locations.
Make the day your own: check the destination’s current hours, seasonal access, parking permits, fees, event schedules, and conditions before setting out. Public recreation nearby is separate from association amenities.
THE DESTINATION RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
And sometimes, the best place is home.
Mature trees. Glacial boulders. Woodland gardens and pollinator habitat. Birds at the edge of the patio and autumn color above the street. At the Cove, enjoying nature can be as simple as stepping outside.
An evening walk, a garden to tend, a moment to watch the birds, a conversation with a neighbor—these are the quiet pleasures that make our location more than a point on the map.
